Hello readers! It’s officially 2025, so it’s time to reflect on our reading journeys in 2024. What goals we hit or missed, our most-read authors, remembering what books made us cry, gasp, or laugh, and all the other fun stats.
Charts are taken from Storygraph and stats are taken from both Goodreads and Storygraph
Fun Stats
- I read 23 books
- I read 8,962 pages
- My average time to finish a book was 12 days
- 61 percent of the books were between 300-499 pages
Graphs
Here is the monthly breakdown for books and pages read. February, September, and November I read my highest number of 4. In June, August, and October I read nothing.

Here are the genres I read the most. By far my highest was fantasy with 12 books but honestly, that’s expected. What’s different this year is the addition of horror and thriller to the graph. I really started getting into those genres in 2024 and discovered I love them.

Here are the authors I spent the most time with in 2024. Sarah J. Maas held my heart while I read 6 books of hers, all from the Throne of Glass series (I am currently reading ‘Kingdom of Ash’). Freida McFadden is the person who got me into the thriller/mystery genre and it shows with 5 of my books being from her. Stephanie Garber came in 3rd with 3 books, I read the entire ‘Caraval’ series.

My Top 5 Reads

- What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher
- The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
- Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas
- The Perfect Son by Freida McFadden
- Caraval by Stephanie Garber
Shortest and Longest Reads
Shortest: 47 pages

Longest: 693 pages

And Finally…every book I read in 2024

Conclusion
I didn’t get to read as many books as I expected, and I even had to lower my book goal number halfway through the year. Even though I didn’t accomplish my original goal, I can say I had lots of amazing reads this year and opened myself up to some new genres. It’s all numbers and i’m excited for another year of great books.
